Luminsphere bioimaging probes are multicoloured photoluminescent polymer nanoparticles that provide sensitive & non-invasive insight into biological processes/interactions with minimal perturbation to the system under investigation. Luminsphere bioimaging probes are available in fluorescent/phosphorescent blue, green & red colours, chemically functionalised (NH2, CO2H) for facile bioconjugation, decorated with PEG for enhanced biocompatibility/reduced non-specific interactions, have a benign polymer structure that minimises cytotoxicity and are sufficiently bright/stable to be imaged over extended timeframes.
Luminsphere anticounterfeit inks are multicoloured photoluminescent polymer nanoparticle inks that can be printed into optical barcodes. Luminsphere photoluminescent blue/green/red coloured inks formulated in various ratios can be printed into optical barcodes that can be read using fluorescence imaging and deciphered unequivocally by the relative intensity of the blue/green/red coloured emission(s) or by using proprietary multispectral imaging software that assigns a vector based on each nanoparticles spatial coordinates and proximity to other coloured nanoparticles.
Luminspheres can be employed in lighting applications to down-convert blue-light to light of desired colour rendering index anywhere within the entire visible region. Luminsphere photoluminescent polymer nanoparticles of desired emission wavelength dispersed in an inert polymer matrix within in the well of an LED or as a remote phosphor absorb the blue-light irradiated and reemit light of desired colour wavelength. Alternatively, blending the appropriate ratio of green and red Luminspheres in an inert polymer matrix enables the light emission to be tuned to the desired colour rendering index anywhere within the visible region.
